Bride Diets

Bride Diets

Bride diets, bridal diets, wedding day diets, and wedding day weight reduction all have the same thing in common. It is a very awesome element i.e. The lady has a need to feel beautiful on her wedding day. As poetically potent as it may seem, it is also just as true. Therefore, we must ensure the lady has taken thought long before hand on how to prepare herself for this very special day.

If we feel the lady is a little too large for the dress, we can do one of two things. We can make the dress to fit the lady or, as I am sure the lady will agree, make the lady fit the dress. I believe that is why we are reading this article.

The key to the whole thing here is preparation. We live in days in which this concept is little understood, especially in the western hemisphere. The whole idea of planning is good, but a wedding is indeed much more than a planned series of events to be coldly played out in time.
Here we are talking about a symphony unfolding, or a poem flowing from the pen of a ready writer. There is more art and grace in the process of the preparation to the event, and the lady has to take time to prepare. She has to allow herself time to prepare. She is, in essence, making herself ready for the marriage feast and in its true context there is indeed a wonderfully mystical air to the whole picture. She is to be joined forever in love to her betrothed. There will be many guests, yes, those who serve the guests, yes, the bride and the bridegroom, most definitely. Not to mention the best man, maid of honor etc. and the Father of the Bride whose honor and privilege it is to 'give her away' in this celebration of their union.

So let's toast the bride and groom. The subject of bride diets, bridal diets, wedding day and wedding day weight reduction all pale in the light and warmth of this wonderfully romantic setting. All the best to you. May you forever honor and cherish one another.
If the lady will indeed take the time to prepare herself she will probably need the following very practical tips right up until her very wedding day.

Successful Aging

Successful Aging
You can change how you think, feel and act when you are older simply by changing how you think, feel and act now, geriatrics experts say. Staying healthy, fit and active are the keys to successful aging.
Dr. Judy Salerno, deputy director of NIH's National Institute on Aging (NIA), says, "When I entered the aging field many years ago, we didn't talk about disease prevention. We simply characterized normal aging. Now we are seeing that people can age successfully in good health well into old age. Disease and disability are not inevitable consequences of aging."
That is good news not only for individuals but also for communities and society in general. In the last two decades, census figures have shown that the world's vital statistics are changing. In the U.S., the proportion of older adults went from roughly four percent in 1900 to 13 percent today, and will increase to more than 20 percent by 2030.
In the recently ended Diabetes Prevention Program study, sponsored by NIH's National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and NIA with additional support by several other institutions, scientists found that moderate diet and exercise successfully delayed and possibly prevented participants from developing type 2 diabetes.
About 16 million people in the United States have
diabetes , which is the main cause of kidney failure, limb amputations and new-onset blindness in adults, as well as a major cause of heart disease and stroke. Type 2 diabetes accounts for up to 95 percent of all diabetes cases.
"The most interesting aspect of the study in terms of aging was that diet and exercise worked better in those participants ages 60 and older," Dr. Salerno said. She noted that lifestyle changes prevented the disease at better rates than did the oral diabetes drug
metformin, which was also tested during the program.
Even before the diabetes prevention trial results, NIA researchers had realized the health benefits of regular physical activity by older people. For more, please read the "Exercise for Seniors" article.
Regular exercise and physical activity are important to the health and abilities of older people, according to research studies conducted by NIA.
Dr. Pamela Peeke, a professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, cited research data at a "Successful Aging" seminar on the NIH campus showing that regular exercise - by people of any age - may improve daily functioning, strength, flexibility and endurance.
"Studies sponsored by NIA and other gerontology centers have found that people who have been normally sedentary and have lost a tremendous amount of muscle mass can recoup that very nicely and increase power and strength as well," she said, "even through their eighties and into their nineties."

Swimming

Swimming

Swimming is an activity that burns lots of calories, is easy on the joints, supports your weight, builds muscular strength and endurance, improves cardiovascular fitness, cools you off and refreshes you in summer, and one that you can do safely into old age. In this article, I'll review the history of swimming, the benefits, the strokes, how to get started, what to wear, equipment you need, where to do it, and more.
Human beings have been swimming for millennia. According to Wikipedia, Stone Age cave drawings depict individuals swimming and there are written references in the Bible and the Greek poems "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey" dating back 1,500 to 2,000 years. There are even Egyptian clay seals from 4000 BC showing four swimmers doing a version of the crawl, and the most famous swimming drawings were apparently found in the Kebir desert and were estimated to also be from around 4000 BC.
According to the Encyclopedia of Traditional British Rural Sports, literature specifically related to swimming grew in the middle ages. It is believed that the first book devoted to swimming was Colymbetes by Nicolas Wynman written in 1538, and a more widely recognized text, De Arte Nantandi, was published in Latin by Everard Digby in 1587. The encyclopedia also reports that swimming was required of knights and that Romans built bathhouses and pools wherever they conquered to serve as social clubs and places to exercise.
Organized swimming began in the 1800s and 1900s with the creation of swimming associations (for example, the Amateur Swimming Association in 1886) and clubs that competed against each other. There are reports from that era of swimming clubs in England, France, Germany, and the United States. High-profile events also contributed to swimming's visibility. For instance, Matthew Webb swam the English Channel in 1875.
Competitive swimming continued to grow in popularity during the 1800s and was included in the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. In 1904, the Olympics in St. Louis included the 50-, 100-, 220-, 440-, 880-yard and one-mile freestyle, the 100-yard backstroke and 440-yard breaststroke, and a 4x50-yard freestyle relay.
By the 20th century, swimming had become mainstream. Indoor pools were beginning to appear, most towns with populations over 20,000 had public outdoor pools, and swimming clubs became increasingly popular for recreation. Women participated for the first time in swimming in the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, and Johnny Weissmuller (considered by many authorities to be the greatest swimmer of all time and who later went on to Tarzan fame in movies) became the first person to swim 100 meters in less than one minute.
Today swimming is the second most popular exercise activity in the United States, with approximately 360 million annual visits to recreational water venues. Swim clubs, recreation centers, Y's, and many other facilities feature swimming pools. Many high schools and colleges have competitive swim teams, and of course, swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports. Millions of Americans are swimming each year

(3) Raise and lengthen your other arm over your head and moving from the pelvis-up, twist to the right. (4) Visualize the each part of the lower body twisting before making your way to the upper body. (5) Exhale as you allow your right elbow to fall towards the back of the chair. (6) In your twist, take three deep Ujjayi breaths, inhaling and exhaling through the nose. (7) Continue to lengthen your spine on each inhale and gently twist the body on each exhale, completely emptying the diaphram at the bottom of each exhale. Repeat on each side three times.

(2) With your palms facing the floor, take a deep inhale and circle both wrists where the palms now face the sky. (3) Take one deep breath feeling the gentle, reverse twist in the wrists. (4) On the next inhale, circle the wrists back around, except this time, take the palms in a "stop-sign" fashion - The backs of your hands facing you, the palms facing away. Listening for the breath, repeat several times in each direction.

Benefits:
Stretches and relaxes the wrists, arms, shouldrs, back and chest, bringing increased circulation to the upper body. Also helps to focus and calm the mind through use of the breath.
It's said that
Salamba Sirsasana (or supported headstand) pose is the equivalent to a cup of coffee. And while it's not suggested you take a headstand in the middle of your local cafe, you'll be able to discretely center yourself anywhere with these chair yoga poses and, best of all, reap the benefits anytime.

Diet

Diet

Here is an interesting Flat Belly Diet.

Anytime you "diet" to lose weight you will always gain it back when go back to your normal eating habits. You can not be fit for life, if you are constantly dieting, quitting dieting and then gaining your weight back and even more.

Here is the premise of the Flat Belly Diet:

Flat Belly Diet Secrets Quick meals made from healthy, delicious packaged foods that follow the rules of our best-selling Flat Belly Diet! These meals, developed by Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD, co-author and creator of Flat Belly Diet, will leave you satisfied on fewer calories, which makes it much easier to lose weight without feeling hungry. The secret ingredient to the weight loss (and these weight-loss meals) is the almighty MUFA. What’s a MUFA? MUFAs are foods rich in monounsaturated fatty acids. These fats have been shown to help with overall health and weight loss. MUFAs are found in r like olives, nuts and seeds, oils, avocado, and (yes!) dark chocolate. You should have some MUFAs with every meal.. Time-saving foods The staff at Prevention magazine came up with some menus for the diet. Meals take on average only 15 minutes to prepare. Here are some tips

Eat four 400-calorie meals per day (the following meals have about 400 calories each).
Include MUFAs at every meal (we’ve done that for you — the MUFA ingredient is noted in each recipe).

Eat meals spaced out about 4 hours apart.

BLOOD PRESSURE

BLOOD PRESSURE

A blood pressure lowering device might supplement other things one is doing to achieve normal blood pressure. We'll cover a few of the different types later. Whereas lowering blood pressure by natural means requires hitting the problem from many angles, particularly diet, a blood pressure lowering device might knock off a few systolic/diastolic points on the way toward the final goal. Here are the devices in no particular order.

BP Down - A reasonably priced system which includes two squeeze balls and a CD. Following the instructions on the CD, one squeezes the balls and paces breathing at a slow rate, then doesn't squeeze the balls while repeating the paced breathing. Takes about twelve minutes five to seven times a week. After four weeks one should see real results. Hand Grips - Only cost is for the grips, which can be found at most stores selling exercise or strength building equipment. One squeezes one hand grip for two minutes at about seventy percent of a full pressure squeeze, rests for a minute, then squeezes a grip with the other hand for two minutes, relaxes a minute, then repeats the cycle again with each hand. Total time twelve minutes five to seven times a week

Resperate - A blood pressure lowering device costing several hundred dollars, which trains in a breathing rhythm that promotes normal blood pressure. When breathing is paced right, a pleasant tone sounds from the machine. This makes it easy to program breathing to the proper rate. One uses the machine daily for a while until the pace is correct, then every so often as a check.

Rheos Clinical Trial - This blood pressure lowering device is not for sale yet. It is being tested in a clinical trial for those who have uncontrolled (difficult to treat) hypertension. In our necks are baroreceptors. These baroreceptors send signals to the brain when blood pressure gets too high. The brain responds by signaling the heart, blood vessels and kidneys to quickly lower blood pressure. A pulse generator and electrodes for each baroreceptor are implanted in the body. The pulse generator sends electrical signals to the brain via the baroreceptors. The brain then sends out its signal to lower blood pressure.

BP Down and hand grips are relatively imprecise, but inexpensive due to their simplicity and lack of a programmed machine. Resperate is a guiding system to proper breathing. The theory is that properly paced breathing relaxes the blood vessels so that they don't restrict blood flow. Once one has the breathing depth and pace down, the machine can be set aside except to check the pattern occasionally.

Zona Plus and the hand grips probably operate to lower pulse pressure. Pulse pressure is systolic pressure minus diastolic pressure. Normal blood pressure of 120/80 would equal pulse pressure of 40, which is good. One must keep using these devices, however, or the pulse pressure will return to its original value. BP Down is a combination of breathing pace and pulse pressure reduction. After a month or two, sessions can be cut to three times a week for maintenance.

No matter which blood pressure lowering device is chosen, it should be used only as an assist to more fundamental changes in diet, exercise and lifestyle. Nevertheless, some people will want to try a device to circumvent the more difficult lifestyle changes required to lower blood pressure naturally. That's okay. Give one of them a try.
